THE percentage of police personnel who received vaccination against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Eastern Visayas has reached 99.12 percent, as the government has ramped up its inoculation drive.

“I hope that before my stint ends, Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-Eastern Visayas) will be 100 percent compliant of this program as this not only benefits the personnel receiving the vaccine alone but more so, his or her family and the community will not be infected by the virus,” said Brigadier General Rommel Bernardo Cabagnot.

As of October 27, 2021, the Regional Medical and Dental Unit 8 recorded 9,975 out of 11,733 total police personnel who were fully vaccinated.

Another 1,660 were on their first dose and still awaiting to complete the vaccination.

But there were 98 personnel who remained unvaccinated due to medical conditions and other reasonable circumstances.

Colonel Alex Bragat, chief of Regional Medical and Dental Unit 8, added that no new Covid-19 cases were recorded for the past five days.

Since the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic, PRO-Eastern Visayas recorded a total of 1,069 confirmed cases with two deaths.

As of October 27, PRO-Eastern Visayas has recorded eight active Covid-19 cases. (SunStar Philippines)
