DEATHS related to coronavirus disease (Covid-19) have reached 562 in Eastern Visayas, following the three new fatalities recorded on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
The new deaths were identified as EV47766, a 30-year-old male from Isabel, Leyte who died on October 06, 2021; EV47774, a 41-year-old male from Biliran, Biliran who died on October 04, 2021; and EV47982, a 68-year-old male from Lavezares, Northern Samar who died on September 30, 2021.
On Thursday, the region also logged 68 new Covid-19 cases and 125 fresh recoveries.
The new confirmed cases are from Tacloban City (3), Leyte province (28), Southern Leyte (15), Samar (9), and Biliran (13).
According to the regional health department, Eastern Visayas has 50,581 total Covid-19 cases, 49,594 (98.05 percent) total recoveries, and 425 (0.84 percent) total active cases.
Meanwhile, the region received another 58,800 doses of vaccines on Thursday afternoon.
All 58,800 doses were pre-allocated for the Leyte province and were directly delivered to the Provincial Health Office.
The vaccines include Gamaley-Sputnik V Component 1 and Sinovac. (SunStar Philippines)
