CAGAYAN de Oro began the vaccination of minors from 12 to 17 years old against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) at the JR Borja General Hospital on Friday, October 29, 2021.

City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu said they will be prioritizing vaccinating children with comorbidities in the city. The vaccinees should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Covid-19 vaccines available for the said age group are Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.

According to Dr. William Bernardo, the acting city health officer, only those who have pre-registered and received the text message are allowed to go to the vaccination site. They also have to bring their birth certificate, school ID, baptismal certificate or barangay certificate.

At present, walk-ins are not allowed in the vaccination sites for 12 to 17 years old.
