SHARON Rose Dacera, the mother of the late flight attendant Christine Dacera, sympathized with Sally Jonson, the mother of the late Davao artist Bree Jonson.

On October 22, Sharon commented on a SunStar Davao reuploaded video of Sally expressing her sentiment on the news of the indictment of Julian Ongpin over illegal possession of illegal drugs, a non-bailable case.

"Hugs tight to you mother Sally, am still fighting too for justice as well for my daughter Christine Dacera *fist and prayer emoji*," Sharon said.

Both mothers are seeking justice for the untimely loss of their daughters at a young age.

Christine was found unconscious in the bathtub of a hotel room in Makati City around noon of January 1, 2021. She was declared dead at the Makati Medical Center.

The Makati Prosecutor’s Office, however, has dismissed charges of rape and homicide against 11 people implicated in the death of Christine April this year.

Meanwhile, Bree was found lifeless in a hotel room she shared with Ongpin in San Juan La Union last September.

Ongpin, a person of interest in the death of his girlfriend, Jonson, was initially arrested after police recovered from his possession 12 grams of cocaine in a hotel room they shared in San Juan La Union last September.

The recovery came as the police investigated the room where Jonson was found dead.

The Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, however, ordered the release of Ongpin, the son of business tycoon Roberto Ongpin.

On October 18, the Department of Justice (DOJ) indicted Ongpin on illegal drugs charges. Ongpin also tested positive for illegal drug use.

In her video message on the 30th day of Bree's death, Sally still cannot accept her daughter’s untimely demise.

"How do I move forward? The answer to that is justice. I am still here mustering all my strength because I seek justice for my daughter Bree Jonson," she said.

In the video, she said it was hard for her to "put away" her daughter's stuff as she "refused to believe that she is gone."

"I miss her so much. Sobrang sakit talaga (It hurts so much), that sometimes I do not know how to pray anymore," she said.

Sally said the indictment of Ongpin "flickered a light of hope."

In the latter part of the video, she shouted "jail Julian Ongpin for violating RA [Republic Act] 9165!" urging the judges not to allow the latter to post bail.

RA 9165 is the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, Sally said the National Bureau of Investigation had already interviewed some individuals who can "shed light" on Bree's death, and is currently completing all the details of their investigation before the results will be released to the family and public.

"Appropriate cases for murder, homicide, shall be filed as soon as the investigation is over," she said.

She also asked the public's help to pray for her daughter's justice.

"Justice for Bree means justice for all!" Sally said.

The Jonson family remembered Bree's 40th day after her death on Thursday, October 28.

A memorial mass was held around 6 p.m., which was not broadcast live to the public.

A tribute concert and "justice rally" was also held wherein the family and friends of the late artist attended.

The event also featured live performances from Alto Indio (Bree's college band) and Friends of Bree, along with well-known OPM artists such as Barbie Almalbis, Cynthia Alexander, and Pow Chavez.
