Abdulhamid beats Egera in Sanman Bubble Series VI

ADAM Diu Abdulhamid claimed the Philippines Games and Amusements Board welterweight crown after an eighth round stoppage of battle-worn veteran Jason Egera in the main event of “Sanman Bubble Series VI” on Oct. 29, 2021 at the Sanman Gym in Gen. Santos City.

Even though Egera looked sluggish and out of shape, he willingly traded heavy blows with Abdulhamid.

In the eighth round, Egera had enough and quit in the middle of the round.

The 26-year-old Abdulhamid improved to 17-9 with nine knockouts, while Egera, a former World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific bantamweight champion, dropped to 24-23-3 with 11 knockouts.

Former world title challenger Aston Palicte (27-4-1, 23 KOs) outclassed Roland Jay Biendima 15-10-1, 8 KOs) via a lopsided unanimous decision. All three judges had identical scores of 100-89.

In the undercard, Michael Casama (7-0, 7 KOs) stopped Joe Tejones (13-9, 7 KOs), former Olympian Mark Anthony Barriga (11-1, 2 KOs) beat Ramel Antaran (4-15-2) by unanimous decision in a competitive bout, Richie Mepranum (36-8-1, 11 KOs) destroyed Nicardo Calamba (9-33-5, 6 KOs) in two rounds, Ian Sampan (4-0, 4 KOs) knocked out Dave Barlas (5-3-1, 3 KOs), Joey Canoy (17-5-1, 9 KOs) defeated Michael Camelion (11-14-3, 9 KOs), Bryl Bayogos (1-0) had a successful pro debut with a unanimous decision over Elizer Ambon (0-7) and Kenneth Egano (1-0, 1 KOs) scored a first round technical knockout of Nathaniel Juan (0-1).
