Public urged to observe health protocols while in cemeteries

POLICE officials have urged the public to observe health protocols while visiting their departed loved ones in cemeteries.

Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon, director of the Central Luzon police, reminded the people in Central Luzon to follow the Covid-19 task force guidelines.

He said the Philippine National Police (PNP) will not hesitate to arrest violators of health protocols.

The Covid-19 task force ordered the closure of public cemeteries and private memorial parks from October 28 to November 4 to prevent mass gatherings during the observance of All Saints' Day.

De Leon inspected different cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbarium all over Central Luzon on Friday, October 29.

The police official said he ordered the fielding of 5,000 policemen in line with the Ligtas Undas 2021 program.

"Our policemen are deployed until November 4 to ensure the safety and security of the public in observance of the All Saints' and All Souls' days," De Leon said.

The police general thanked the volunteer groups or force multipliers who supported the PNP in its deployment of troops during the holidays.

De Leon said more than 6,000 volunteers will be dispatched alongside organic cops.
