8 drug suspects fall in separate Eastern Visayas stings

EIGHT alleged drug personalities were arrested in separate drug stings in Eastern Visayas towns, police said Saturday, October 30, 2021.

Limuel Claridad, 38, was arrested in Tacloban City on Friday, October 29.

Tacloban City Police Office-Station 1, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), confiscated drug items with an estimated weight of 1 gram and street value of P1,500.

In Kawayan, Biliran, operatives collared Nichol Canete, of legal age, during a buy-bust operation on Friday.

A 28-year-old waiter was also apprehended in Sogod, Southern Leyte.

Jayson Daclan Dumalag allegedly sold three sachets believed to be containing shabu, while confiscated from his possession and control were nine sachets of suspected shabu, P1,000 buy-bust money with serial number GP875983, and other personal belongings.

On Thursday, October 28, Ormoc City police operatives rounded up Nagave Lumangco, 48, and a worker at Philippine Ports Authority.

Purchased from the suspect was one sachet of suspected shabu, while confiscated from his possession were two sachets believed to be containing shabu, P500 buy-bust money with serial number JE516603, a mini-van, and other items.

The suspect, Giovannie Reymund Lopez, was arrested for alleged selling and possession of illegal drugs in Ormoc on Thursday.

Authorities purchased one sachet of suspected shabu and confiscated two sachets believed to be containing shabu, along with P1, 000 with number YL117496 used as buy-bust money.

Another suspect, Michael Vincent Ferrer, was arrested after joint police operatives purchased a sachet believed to be containing shabu from the suspect in Ormoc on Thursday.

Confiscated from his possession and control were three sachets of suspected shabu and P1,000 with serial number FT969010 used as buy-bust money.

In Calbayog City, authorities nabbed 28-year-old Geredel Estandarte on Thursday.

Purchased and confiscated drug items from the suspect have an estimated weight of more or less 2 grams and Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P13,600.

On Thursday, an alleged drug personality, Crisanto Dacallos, eluded arrest after an anti-drug operation in Carigara, Leyte.

Prior to his escape, a poseur buyer was able to purchase from the suspect three sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 2.7 grams and with a market street value of P18,360.

In Alangalang, Leyte, a former drug surrenderer was apprehended for alleged illegal drug activities.

Purchased from the suspect, Volter Avila, was a sachet believed to be containing shabu, while confiscated from his possession and control were four sachets of suspected shabu, P1,000.00 buy-bust money with serial number PP192856, and other personal items.

The estimated weight of confiscated drug items was 0.08 grams with estimated value of P4,500, police said in the report.

Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now being prepared for filing in court against the suspects. (SunStar Philippines)
