AROUND 400 children aged 12 to 17 years old with comorbidities in Cagayan de Oro have already received their doses of the Covid-19 vaccines as of November 3, 2021, the City Health Office reported.
According to City Health medical officer Dr. Ted Yu, there are no reported cases of children experiencing major adverse reactions after they were injected with the Covid-19 vaccine.
"At present, nasa 400 na yung bakunado sa 12 to 17 years old. Among them, wala naman tayong reported na may major adverse reaction after immunization among itong 12 to 17," Yu said.
Yu said the total number of children in Cagayan de Oro who have already pre-registered in the vaccination rollout is 9,807.
Cagayan de Oro has two vaccination sites for the vaccination rollout for children 12 to 17 years old, namely the JR Borja General Hospital and the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC).
"We are calling the parents and guardians na kung pwede ipa-pre-register na sila (the children) para ma texan sila when are their schedule time and date sa vaccination," Yu said.
As of November 2, 2021, 540,487 individuals in Cagayan de Oro have already received their doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Of the figure, 307,745 got their first dose of the vaccines, while 232,742 were fully vaccinated.
Among the 540,487 vaccinees, 429,476 were vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites and 111,011 were vaccinated in Cagayan de Oro hospitals.
Of the 429,476 individuals vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites, 31,094 were frontline healthcare workers, 57,894 were senior citizens, 91,310 were persons with comorbidities, 213,946 were essential frontline workers, 24,062 were from the A5 priority group, 11,012 were from the ROAP priority group, and 158 were from pedia A3 and ROPP priority groups.
