Central Luzon records highest number of unvaxxed elderly

CENTRAL Luzon has the highest number of senior citizens who remain unvaccinated as of October 24, data from World Health Organization Philippines showed.

According to the said data, some 52.1 percent of the total population of senior citizens have already been vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

This, however, means that some 476,036 elderly are yet to be jabbed against the viral disease as of the same date.

The number is the highest among all regions in the country, followed by Central Visayas with 319,112 senior citizens who are still not jabbed, and Calabarzon with 302,103 elderly.

Meanwhile, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) has the lowest number of unvaccinated senior citizens with 43,406, followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) with 76,771, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao with 77,628.

By percentage rate, it is the ninth highest in jabbing the senior citizens after NCR, Calabarzon, CAR, Central Luzon, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Ilocos Region.
