ANGELES City's innovative mobile vaccination initiative "Ronda Bakuna" went to jab residents in neighboring Magalang town on November 3, in keeping with Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr.'s promise of assisting other nearby cities and towns in their inoculation roll-out.

The City Government's Ronda Bakuna Bus 1 with Angeles' working staff on board went to the first district town to vaccinate students, teachers, army reservists and residents of Magalang in Pampanga State Agricultural University.

“As the Mayor of Angeles City, nangangako po ako na handa pong ipahiram ng siyudad ang mga mobile vaccination buses at maging ang mga working staff sa mga karatig-bayan upang tulungan po sila sa kanilang pagbabakuna,” Lazatin vowed.

The vaccines that were used are a donation from the Department of Health.

The Ronda Bakuna in Magalang is in coordination with Senator Bong Go, Pampanga Governor Dennis "Delta" Pineda and Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo"Jon" Lazatin II.

12-17 age group

Meanwhile, Mayor Lazatin also ordered the vaccination of the 12-17 age group starting November 5 via the Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay.

The vaccination of minors, Lazatin said, is set to be finished in 10 days, targeting all minors, aged 12-17, in the 33 barangays.

Angeles City now records an average of 10,000 inoculations a day, via the blended vaccination schemes under the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay and Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay programs of the city government, with 400 staff working non-stop led by IC Calaguas, Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and Chief Implementer of the city’s vaccination program.

“Sa katunayan po, an average of 10,000 residents of the city are being inoculated in a day via the Ronda and Sundo Bakuna sa barangay programs,” Lazatin said. “Kayang-kaya po nating makapagbakuna ng 10,000 Angeleños kada araw dahil na rin po sa walang kapagurang serbisyo ng 400 staff ng Angeles City Government.”

(We can afford to vaccinate 10,000 Angeleños per day because of the tireless service of the 400 staff of the Angeles City Government.)

The Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay is the delivery of vaccination service right at the doorsteps of Angeleño families using three mobile bus clinics, while the Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay program picks up Angeleños from barangays and takes them to the city’s two mega vaccination sites with free services being provided — six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys.

To date, 255,128 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines while 177,526 are already fully vaccinated.
