UNIDENTIFIED gunmen shot and killed a 37-year-old barangay captain and injured another person in Pinabacdao, Samar Thursday evening, November 5, 2021.
Police identified the fatality as Carlito Pacayra, married and chairman of Barangay Canlobo, Pinabacdao, while the injured was a minor.
Initial investigation disclosed that while the victim was on a hammock near the window inside his father's house in Barangay Parasanon of the said town, the suspects fired at him, hitting him in the head that caused his instantaneous death.
The minor, who was also inside the house, was hit on the right thigh.
Authorities recovered three empty shells of unknown caliber at the scene.
A hot pursuit operation was launched for the possible identification and arrest of the suspects. (SunStar Philippines)
