THE Pintaflores Festival Badminton Cup already kicked-off at the San Carlos City Sports Park Saturday, November 6, 2021.
Some 94 local players joined the tournament, which began through a ceremonial serve led by Mayor Renato Gustilo and City Sports Office head Jesus Facundo Combate Jr.
Game categories include Mens Doubles 50 up and Officials, Mix Doubles Level D, Mix Doubles Open Category, Girls Singles Under 11, Boys Singles Under 15, Girls Singles 15 and Under.
Renbert Gustilo, executive assistant and badminton coach, said the event was aimed at promoting badminton sport in the city and inspiring enthusiasts to participate and gain exposure.
He added that technical training for local coaches is also ongoing provided by the representatives of the National Badminton Association to equip coaches with more knowledge that can be shared with the players to level-up their skills.
