Over 2,000 children 12-17 years old vaccinated in Oro

A TOTAL of 2,455 children aged 12 to 17 years old with comorbidities in Cagayan de Oro have already received their doses of the Covid-19 vaccines as of November 7, 2021, the City Health Office reported.

According to City Health medical officer Dr. Ted Yu, the number of children in Cagayan de Oro who have already pre-registered in the vaccination rollout is 12,714. Of the figure, 813 are children with comorbidities.

Yu said all registered 12- to 17-year-old children with comorbidities will be vaccinated in the hospital vaccination sites, namely, the JR Borja General Hospital and the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), so they can be monitored.

"Ang walang 11 medical conditions, pwede sa mga mga sites or assigned sites," Yu said.

He added that there is still no walk-in service for children age 12 to 17 years old.

"Requirement natin, pag may 11 medical condition ang mga anak ninyo na nasa age group na 12 to 17, you need to have a medical certificate," Yu said.

As of November 5, 561,288 individuals in Cagayan de Oro have already received their doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Of the figure, 319,018 got their first dose of the vaccines, while 242,270 were fully vaccinated.

Among the 561,288 vaccinees, 449,321 were vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites and 111,967 were vaccinated in Cagayan de Oro hospitals.

Of the 449,321 individuals vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites, 31,266 were frontline healthcare workers, 58,452 were senior citizens, 91,663 were persons with comorbidities, 224,497 were essential frontline workers, 25,273 were from the A5 priority group, 15,715 were from the ROAP priority group, and 2,455 were from pedia A3 and ROPP priority groups.
