CSC to hold online conference on literary works about nature

THE University of San Carlos Cebuano Studies Center (CSC), in cooperation with the Mamugnaong Anak sa Dagang and Inotherwords Incorporated will conduct “NaturaLit: Being in Nature, Living with Literature,” an online conference on Thursday, November 11, 2021.

The event will be held via Zoom, and it will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.

With the planet in the worst shape it has ever been in human history, the conference aims to discuss local works that not only call attention to the calamities that have been inextricably linked to unchecked human activity, but also call out the institutions and systems that have thrust humanity’s existence toward a tipping point they may never return from unless drastic changes are implemented.

Measures to alleviate and respond to the present crisis will also be tackled in the activity.

To present their papers are Genesis Bedio, Bejay Bolivar, Clyde Chan, Maria Cristina Gornez, Oscar Guinto Jr., Jorisse Gumanay, Nicolo Nasol, Haidee Emmie Palapar, Charles Dominic Sanchez, Dr. Cindy Velasquez and Dr. Hope Sabanpan-Yu.

The event is free and open to the public but will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interested participants can register through bit.ly/naturalit2021 until November 8, 2021. For inquiries, contact CSC through email at teamcsc.events@gmail.com or via landline (32) 2300100 local 308.
