More non-Covid admissions in Cebu hospitals now, VVOC says

THE Visayas Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) reported another positive development in the healthcare system in Cebu as they noted more non-Covid patients in admission compared to Covid-19 patients.

VVOC spokesperson Dr. Mary Jean Loreche on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, welcomed this latest report, saying patients requiring elective surgeries who were rescheduled due to the Covid-19 surge early this year will be accommodated by the hospitals.

“These patients will now be given the proper care and attention they need. Slowly, we are able to free up our medical frontliners and our hospital beds to accommodate those who need care,” Loreche said.

Meanwhile, the Project Balik Buhay (PBB) Junior Vaccination Program for minors kicked off on Tuesday with 200 masterlisted minors who were inoculated with Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine at the PBB-IEC Vaccination MegaCenter, in partnership with the Archdiocese of Cebu, LH Foundation Inc. and the Philippine Pediatric Society-Central Visayas.

The PBB Junior Vaccination Program is part of the PBB Vaccination Initiative, which is intended to help facilitate the vaccination of the 12- to 17-year-old dependents of the employees/members of PBB-registered companies and organizations.
