PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Lieutenant General Dionardo Carlos as the next chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
In a letter dated November 10, 2021, Duterte informed Carlos of his new designation.
Carlos, chief of the PNP directorial staff, will replaced Police General Guillermo Eleazar, who is set to retire on November 13, as he reached the mandatory retirement age of 56.
Carlos is a member of the Philippine Military Academy class of 1988.
He is also the former chief of the Public Information of the PNP.
He also headed the PNP Highway Patrol Group, the Directorate for Police Community Relations and the Directorate for Information and Communication Technology Management.
He also served as PNP director for Integrated Police Operations in Visayas and in Southern Luzon.
Carlos was designated as the chief directorial staff on May 9. (SunStar Philippines)
