Zamboanga City marks over 197,000 fully vaccinated

A TOTAL of 503,923 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines have been administered in Zamboanga City since the vaccination program was rolled out in March this year.

Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said Thursday, November 11, that of the total number, 306,114 got their first dose while the remaining 197,809 were given as second dose.

Miravite said this brought the total percentage for partial vaccination to 44 percent and full vaccination to 28 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696.

Miravite said majority of those who are fully vaccinated are persons with comorbidity who belong to the A3 priority group with 62,667.

It is followed by the A2 priority group, who composed of senior citizens with 33,160 vaccinated members.

The rest are as follows: indigents (A5), 24,781; workers in frontline health services (A1), 16,429; and rest of the population, 775.

Miravite said they target to attain herd immunity the soonest time possible. (SunStar Zamboanga)
