KOLOR Banwa, a collective group of artists in Tacloban City, held a commemorative art exhibit dubbed “Rampag 2021,” featuring 23 artworks from 20 visual artists.
The exhibit runs until December 18, 2021, at the Pacific Point Events Place & Resort in Baluarte, San Jose, Tacloban.
The participating artists were Dante Enage, Aljun Alvarez, Clint Gonzales, Aulefrau, Kimberly Yau, Tata de la Cruz, Kenn Manatad, Joan Bituin, Myra Medalla, Philip Salem, Hazel Llemos, Aissa Olaran, Archimedes Prisno, Arnel Cabanatan, Orly Barredo, Sam Redoña, Aldrin Mercado, Marjorie Bulusan, Felix Limpoco Jr., and Melchor Tagana.
“We, the Kolor Banwa, continue our advocacy of encouraging and educating young people to discover and develop their talents in arts,” said Tagana, the president of the art group.
He also lauded the initiative of Enage, founder of Kolor Banwa, for his “optimistic vision, burning desire, and consistent efforts to encourage and gather young and potential artists.”
The group also thanked the support of Hiraya Foundation President Raymund Romualdez, artist and sculpture Nemesio Miranda, and city officials.
The art exhibit coincided with this year’s 8th commemorative anniversary of Super Typhoon Yolanda, which became the group’s platform to channel their creative energy. (SunStar Philippines)
