San Carlos City launches “the Duterte Legacy”

In a bid to bringing the government closer to the people especially the rural folk, the city government of San Carlos in coordination with the Philippine National Police and the Department of the Interior & Local Government launched the Duterte Legacy at Brgy. Guadalupe Friday, November 12.

Anchored on the theme: “Barangayanihan Towards National Recovery”, the activity also aimed to let the people feel and benefit from the various services the government offers particularly during this time of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

More than 100 residents of Barangay Guadalupe availed the services and assistance offered by the government which include the continuous vaccination against Covid-19 , free check-ups and free haircuts.

They also received seedlings for various crops, rice, hygiene kits, medicines and vitamins placed in plastic buckets.

Mayor Renato Gustilo stressed the importance of getting the Covid-19 vaccines to achieve herd immunity so that everybody could get back to their respective works and live normal life soon.

Gustilo urged the people to get the vaccine shots to help not only their family but also the government and the economy.

He said that the economy has now slowly risen from great recession (due to the pandemic) while the government is doing its best to provide the people the much needed assistance every now and then.

Guadalupe Punong Barangay Romeo Descartin lauded the city and national government representatives for their efforts.

Descatin also thanked the city mayor for calling the attention of those who have not yet received vaccine shots against Covid-19.

Among the city offices that participated in the activity are the City Health, Social Welfare and Development, Cooperatives and Livelihood Development, Agriculture, Disaster Risk Reduction Management, Local Civil Registrar and the Public Employment Services.

Also joining the event are employees from the City Environment Management, Tourism and the Assessor's offices.

Representatives from the local Departments of Environment and Natural Resources, Trade and Industry and Agrarian Reform, the Philippine National Police, 79th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fire were also present. The RYU Foundation Inc. and Alpha Kappa Rho, both private entities, also assisted in the distrubution of aids along with Councilor Carlos ManuelValmayor, Police Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Baybayan.
