THE Philippines’ coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positivity rate remained below the recommended five percent, while the recovery rate stayed at 97.4 percent.

The Department of Health (DOH) said in its case bulletin Monday, November 15, that 1,547 of the 39,147 samples tested on November 13 came out positive for the coronavirus.

These new infections brought the total caseload to 2,818,511 as of 4 p.m. Monday.

The active cases went down to 27,025 from Sunday's (November 14) 28,102 infections.

The number of persons who have recovered from the disease climbed to 2,745,777 after 2,601 new recoveries were reported Monday. This means that 97.4 percent of those who contracted the virus were able to recover.

The death toll also rose to 45,709 with 128 new mortalities. This accounts for 1.62 percent of all confirmed infections in the country.

The DOH said majority or 66.9 percent of the cases have mild symptoms and asymptomatic.

The severe cases were only 10.8 percent, while those in critical condition were at 4.6 percent. Moderate cases were at 17.59 percent.

The health department said the figures recorded Monday, November 15, did not include data from three laboratories.

All laboratories, except the three, were able operational and able to submit their output to the Covid-19 Document Repository System last November 13. (SunStar Philippines)
