Celebrate Christmas in the city with SM City Cebu

THIS year, SM City Cebu pays homage to the Queen City of the South with its annual Christmas installation, an indoor park and market at The Northwing Atrium. These are inspired by Cebu and its love for music, and highlights a majestic Christmas tree adorned with notes and instruments.

On Nov. 6, 2021, SM City Cebu had the ceremonial lighting of its tree and official kickoff of “Christmas in the City.” During the program, mall goers were serenaded by Jose R. Gullas (JRG) Visayas Chorale and the Lourdes Parish Youth Rondalla.

Aside from a photo op in front of the 30-foot tree, shoppers can also check out the products in the Christmas market, which include Filipino delicacies, decorations, plants and even locally made guitars. Seats and tables are available should one wish to have a quick bite here.

The overall concept of “Christmas in the City” is based on the Cebuanos, and their affinity for music, good food and quality time with the family and loved ones. Hence, the pusô lamp lights, miniature instruments as tree ornaments, and the plaza-like atmosphere of the park.

Throughout the two-month run of the indoor Christmas park, SM City Cebu will be holding pocket events at the atrium, such as acoustic sessions and light shows to provide entertainment to mall goers, especially since minors are allowed back in the mall.

SM Cares and SM Supermalls also bring back SM Bears of Joy, where one can purchase a pair of stuffed teddy bears—one to keep and the other to be given to a child from SM’s chosen beneficiaries. Over the years, this has been SM’s way of spreading kindness and joy to the underprivileged.

SM City Cebu’s “Christmas in the City” park and market will run until Jan. 6, 2022. Follow @smcitycebuofficial on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
