THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm) is constructing some P106-million schools building covered court projects in the province of Lanao del Sur.

Minister Mohagher Iqbal of Barmm's Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), said the projects include two-story with 10-classroom flagship buildings, one-story with two-classroom buildings, and covered courts.

Funded under the 2020 Special Development Fund (SDF), two-story with 10-classroom school buildings are being constructed at Batabor National High School (P20,628,111.46) in Marawi City Division; Sittie Amanie Mohamad Kiram National High School (P20,940,057.96) in Lanao del Sur I Division; and, Balabagan Central Elementary School (P20,900,000) in Lanao del Sur II Division.

Iqbal said that one-story with two-classroom buildings funded under the 2020 Contingent Fund (CF) are being constructed at Banga Primary School (P4,228,179.25) and Datu Macaorao Elementary School (P4,328,179.25) in Marawi City Division.

While in Lanao del Sur I Division, Iqbal said school buildings are being constructed at Camalig Elementary School Annex (P4,328,179.25), Punod Primary School Annex (P4,328,179.25), and Sultan Guro Elementary School (P20,940,057.96).

For the covered courts, which are funded under the 2021 General Appropriations Act of the Bangsamoro (Gaab), these will be constructed in the Divisions of Marawi City and Lanao del Sur I, particularly at Lake Lanao National High School (P2,676,824.39) and Sultan Alimoddin Memorial National High School (P2,763,281.75), respectively.

“Let us continue working together towards providing quality, inclusive, and relevant education in the Barmm so that no Bangsamoro child will be left behind,” Iqbal earlier said.

In line with the continued implementation of distance learning, the MBHTE also distributed Learning Continuity Plan materials and equipment on Monday, November 15, and Tuesday, November 16, at the Divisions of Lanao del Sur I and II, respectively.

The Schools Division Office received a smart television while each school was given digital duplicators, desktop computers, teachers’ kits, and learners’ kits such as books, charts, flashcards, and manipulative toys, according to Iqbal. (SunStar Zamboanga)
