NOVALICHES Bishop Roberto Gaa on Friday, November 19, 2021, warned the faithful over the possible presence within the Diocese of a priest not ordained by the Roman Catholic Church and one that is considered as Awol (absent without official leave).

In his Circular 2021-10, Gaa warned the faithful in Quezon City against Fr. Alladin Castro, who is not an ordained Roman Catholic priest, and Fr. Richard Bolaton, who is an Awol priest of the Diocese of Tarlac.

"The above-named persons may not be invited to celebrate Mass or administer the sacraments in churches and semi-public oratories of this Diocese, not even funeral masses at funeral homes or to perform blessings," said Gaa.

He said the advisory was issued after the Diocese of Novaliches received information about Castro, who supposedly celebrates Mass in some parishes in the Diocese.

Gaa said Castro is not an ordained priest of the Roman Catholic Church but rather of the Metropolitan of the Ancient Apostolic and Catholic Church of the East, Inc.

He said they also got information that Bolaton is still able to say Mass within the diocese together with his group.

Gaa said Bolaton is an Awol priest of the Diocese of Tarlac and has no priestly faculties to perform any religious activities anywhere in the Philippines.

The prelate then called on the faithful to help locate the said individuals as soon as possible.

"If you have any information about their religious activities within the Diocese or nearby Dioceses, please inform the Chancery immediately," he said.

Gaa also directed all parish priests to post and disseminate the Novaliches Diocese's list of irregular priests and laypersons posing as priests, who are barred to administer the Sacraments. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
