THE Vallacar Transit Incorporated (VTI) already asked Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to approve the resumption of bus trips between the province and Negros Oriental.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said the governor already received the letter of VTI, but they have yet to finalize the guidelines.

Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo has already given a go signal to the resumption of bus trips between their province and Negros Occidental on the recommendation of their local Inter-Agency Task Force.

Diaz reiterated that they want all passengers bound for Negros Occidental to be vaccinated or if not, have negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results.

“We just don’t want to open (the borders because) we are after the safety of the passenger and we want to avoid a spark another epidemic wave,” he replied on the question when Lacson will finally agree on the resumption of bus trips.

Diaz added that they have already ironed out the guidelines for the resumption of airline trips while it is quite peculiar in the case of bus transportation.

Meanwhile, several health workers at the nine provincial government-run hospitals have already received their booster shots against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The provincial government is still collating the data as to how many have already received the booster shots as of last night.
