Apalit clears Covid cases

AS THE cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Pampanga continue to drop, another municipality in the province was able to clear all its active cases on Thursday, November 19, 2021.

Mayor Oscar Tetangco Jr., through the local government's official Facebook page, reported that there were zero active Covid-19 cases in Apalit town, Pampanga on Thursday.

This was after the two last Covid-19 patients in town were able to recover from the said disease, the report noted.

Tetangco credited the positive development to the efforts of medical frontliners and the cooperation of Apaliteños.

Despite being Covid-19-free, the mayor reminded Apaliteños to continue observing the health protocols.

"Hinihikayat ang lahat na wag maging kampante dahil nandyan pa rin ang banta ng Covid-19. Maging responsable po tayo sa sarili, sa pamilya at sa komunidad," Tetangco said.

(Everyone is encouraged not to be complacent because the threat of Covid-19 is still there.)

Currently, the local government is focused on vaccinating its residents, including minors aged 12 to 17 years old.

In its data, around 25,000 Apaliteños were already fully immunized from Covid-19.

Meanwhile, this municipality is the second town in the province to record zero active cases after San Simon.
