Marriot holds 2nd virtual run to help Filipino children

FOR the second time in 2021, Marriott Worldwide Business Councils (MWBC) Philippines is holding another "Run To Give" virtually.

For 2021, all Marriott properties in the Philippines -- Clark Marriott, Manila Marriott, Sheraton Manila, Sheraton Manila Bay, Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, and two new properties that are soon to open (Sheraton Cebu Mactan and Four Points by Sheraton Puerto Princesa Palawan) -- virtually come together to run with a bold attempt to generate P1 million for the Marriott Associate Welfare Fund and its partner beneficiary, the Save The Children Philippines.

In 2020, P400,000 was raised to support Save the Children Philippines and help grant access for children to quality education, improve their health, and protect their rights.

Run To Give (RTG) is a Marriott International-initiated charity run that is simultaneously conducted in the Asia Pacific as part of its Take Care programs.

Anyone interested may sign up to complete a total mileage and select among 100-kilometer (km), 200-km or 300-km.

Participate whenever, wherever, and however because it is not only limited to running. Participants can hike, bike or even swim at their own pace and at their most convenient time and place. The world is "your race track."

Register and help reach the 40,040-km goal in 40 days.

The Virtual RTG gives participants the flexibility and freedom to enjoy the race and help the community at the same time.

Participants need to record their progress by connecting to the Strava app. The Virtual RTG is until December 3. Runners may register through www.marriottvirtualruntogiveph.raisely.com. Registration starts at P500.

An e-certificate of completion will be received at the end of each challenge. A souvenir shirt and finisher’s medal may also be availed with an add-on cost.

Those who do not have the time to run may choose to either donate directly to MWBC Philippines’ chosen beneficiaries or sponsor a participant and take an exclusive part in its charity initiative.
