WORKS of 26 local artists are now on exhibit at the Marquee Mall, hosted by the Angeles City Government, from November 22 to December 5, 2021.
Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. on October 14, 2021 asked malls in Angeles to provide a venue to feature the work of various local artists on a monthly basis.
Dubbed as “Díuâ ning Pámitípun,” the exhibit seeks to help struggling Angeleño artists feature their works, so they can recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who supervised the exhibit with Angeles City Tourism Officer Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, said the exhibit is free and open to the public.
The exhibit is set to go around malls, Antonio-Sugui said.
Among the artists exhibiting their works are Norman Tiotuico, Herminigildo Pineda, Porac Young Artists, Aurelio Q. De Guzman, Edwin Dizon Catli, Vitt D. Pantig, Ramil Tumampos, Alvin Dungca, Ronald Buenacifra Jr., Lloyd Dacayanan, Ailyn A. Gonzales, Ramcos Nulud, Arnold Q. Salunga, Lyndon Joseph V. Susi, Arnel David Garcia, Ed Arozi, Andy Bondoc, Enrie Nicdao, Joel Pábústan Mallári, Gerald Alvarez Dela Cruz, Billy Corcuera, Andy M. Ramos, Ana Algabre Hernandez, Berlin Guanlao, Atty. Reydon Canlas and Jing Torno.
To recall, Lazatin, with Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Antonio-Sugui, met with Tiotuico, an Angeleño painter, who suggested and sought the help of the mayor for a venue for local artists’ works.
Aside from the art exhibit, the City government is also initiating partnerships with local establishments to provide an area for Angeleño artists to exhibit their works.
Meanwhile, Tiotuico will install a mural at the back of the Museo Ning Angeles and at the Santungan Cultural Hub Project under the Abacan Bridge to uplift the cultural scene in the city and to develop cultural awareness among Angeleños through art. (PR)
