PhilHealth launches virtual front desk to handle online transactions

PHILHEALTH Northern Mindanao officially launched on Monday, November 22, its public assistance desk for frontline services.

PhilHealth Regional Vice President Delio Asero II led the launching of PhilHealth Virtual Front Desk, a web-based system that can be accessed by clients using a computer or mobile device that is connected to the internet. Clients can submit a transaction 24/7.

According to PhilHealth, virtual assistants are assigned to facilitate online transactions within the official business hours of PhilHealth.

Frontline services offered by PhilHealth include contributions, accreditation, benefits, inquiries, and other membership-related transactions.

PhilHealth added that its members and other clients can also do face-to-face transactions using a virtual platform via appointment basis, such as Google Meet, Zoom and Messenger.

"The PhilHealth Virtual Front Desk is a key project that is well-timed and necessary as we continue to battle the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and adapt to the thing called 'new normal,'" Aseron said.

"With this project, members and other clients of PhilHealth do not need to personally visit the office just to inquire or transact with the nearest Local Health Insurance Offices as they will be assisted virtually by money PhilHealth personnel via the virtual front desk," he added.

PhilHealth Virtual Front Desk is a capstone project of PhilHealth Northern Mindanao Field Operations Division Chief Mae Dizon to improve PhilHealth's services and achieving universal health coverage.
