MISS Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez and her long-time girlfriend, international DJ Kate Jagdon, ended their more than seven-year relationship.
Jagdon confirmed their breakup on her Instagram story Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
"These past few weeks have been the most difficult time of my personal life. It was a conscious decision to keep quiet. After all, this is a personal matter and I chose my privacy above everything else," she said.
"I don't want to say anything more that fits anyone's situation. This statement will be short before rumors and falsifications get out of hand. Bea and I have parted ways. I am simply taking this step to move forward and go on with my life. Nothing more," she added.
Despite what happened, Jagdon also "wishes Bea the best of luck in her journeys."
She also asked the public to respect her privacy, adding this will be the last time she will address the issue.
A proud member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community, Gomez first admitted she had a girlfriend in January 2020 when she joined Binibining Cebu 2020.
During her opening statement in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant, the beauty queen was very vocal that she is proud that her girlfriend, Jagdon, was by her side during her journey to the crown.
Gomez is set to fly to Eilat, Israel on November 25, 2021 to prepare for the 70th Miss Universe, which will happen on December 12, 2021. (CLC)
