Oro starts booster shots vs Covid for healthcare workers

CAGAYAN de Oro has already started inoculating its medical frontliners with the Covid-19 booster shot on Wednesday, November 24, at JR Borja General Hospital.

The first to be inoculated with the booster shot were JR Borja General Hospital Chief of Hospital Dr. Ramon Moreno and City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu Jr.

Present during the activity were Department of Health (DOH) Regional Director Jose Llacuna Jr., Assistant Regional Director Ellenieta Gamolo and acting City Health Officer Dr. William Bernardo.

Meanwhile, a total of 24,541 children aged 12 to 17 years old in Cagayan de Oro have already received their doses of the Covid-19 vaccines.

According to Yu, the number of children in Cagayan de Oro who have already pre-registered in the vaccination rollout is 31,603. Of the figure, 1,563 are children with comorbidities.

As of November 23, 711,030 individuals in Cagayan de Oro have already received their doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Of the figure, 416,282 got their first dose of the vaccines, while 294,748 were fully vaccinated.

Of the 711,030 individuals vaccinated in City-run vaccination sites, 58,214 were frontline healthcare workers, 70,703 were senior citizens, 135,153 were persons with comorbidities, 327,424 were essential frontline workers, 34,309 were from the A5 priority group, 57,776 were from the ROAP priority group, and 27,451 were from pedia A3 and ROPP priority groups.
