Aboitiz Equity Ventures hailed as one of the best companies to work for in Asia

ABOITIZ Equity Ventures, the publicly listed holding company of the Aboitiz Group, once again joined the ranks of the region’s best employers, having been conferred the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2021 by Business Media International. The award recognizes companies with the best human resources (HR) practices, and demonstrate high levels of employee engagement and excellent workplace cultures.

Nominees for the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards are evaluated by their employees alongside an assessment made by the Business Media International on the company’s HR practices. This high-profile award attracts applications from powerful companies around the world, including Fortune 500 companies.

Winning the award is a testament to the Aboitiz Group’s continued dedication to empower and engage its team members who have always been considered as the backbone of the Group’s success. Aboitiz Group president and chief executive officer Sabin Aboitiz highlighted the win as one for the whole group. “Being recognized in this way says much about the fulfillment of our team members here in Aboitiz—and as our most valuable asset, ensuring the well-being and sense of purpose in life of our team members is critical for us to remain united as ‘One Aboitiz,’ sharing the same goals, values and principles. It is the glue that keeps us together, and it is what drives us forward in the diverse and inclusive way we advance business and communities—a true demonstration of Remix and how it works,” Aboitiz said.

The Aboitiz Group’s Remix program is its approach to ensuring the company can adapt and thrive in the new multi-generational workforce. Through employee-led initiatives, open discussions and enthusiastic leadership of the group president and CEO, the Remix program has produced changes like flexible working schedules, tailored-to-the-employee benefits (“flexible benefits”), the inclusion of LGBTQ+ or common-law partners for medical benefits and a reverse mentoring program (where junior team members share their skills and expertise with senior management), among others.

Susan Valdez, chief human resources officer and chief corporate services officer for Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. Aside from the HR Asia Award, the Aboitiz Group was also conferred the Universum Award recognizing Aboitiz Group as one of the Top 100 Most Attractive Employers for Students and the HRD Awards Asia for Innovative HR Teams. The Group is also a LinkedIn Talent Awards Finalist for Best Culture of Learning and Best Employer Brand.
