THE public is strongly urged to cooperate and support the implementation of health and safety protocols although the government has eased restriction.
"Let us never let our guard down in the fight against Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019). Continue adhering to minimum public health standards and quarantine guidelines for everybody's safety and protection," Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said in a statement Friday, November 26.
"No one is safe until everyone is safe," Salazar added.
Local police authorities are steadfast in enforcing Covid-19 protocols along with the implementation of security measures.
Salazar noted that consolidated report from the different police stations and operating units under the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) showed a total of 136 violations recorded from 5 p.m. of November 24 to 5 p.m. of November 25.
Of the total violations, unauthorized persons outside residence topped the list at 46, followed by no quarantine pass or valid identification card (ID) at 32.
The list also includes curfew offenses, 25; non-wearing of face mask, 22; non-observance of physical distancing, six; and, use of unauthorized crash helmet, five.
Meanwhile, the Zamboanga Task Force Covid-19 data tracker showed that Zamboanga City recorded 22,142 confirmed cases with 20,557 recoveries, 530 active cases and 1,055 deaths as of November 25. (SunStar Zamboanga)
