BRINGING her vast experience in grassroots public service since being a Sangguniang Kabataan chairperson of Dau to now ex-officio city councilor, Liga ng mga Barangay (LNB) President and councilorable Marjorie Morales-Sambo said her council bid will center on the representation of “Mabalaqueños from all walks of life.”

The LNB president disclosed her plans during an exclusive interview on Tatak MCG: Bayung Mabalacat aired on November 23, 2021, over RW 95.1 FM.

If given the mandate in the upcoming elections, Morales-Sambo vowed to advocate for pandemic recovery, barangay development, hybrid education, including the rights and welfare of women and solo parents.

The councilor said she is eyeing the establishment of clustered “Botika ng Bayan” to cascade the services of MCG’s Central Pharmacy in the community especially in remote barangays of the city.

Sambo is also seeking to extend more government assistance to women in crisis and solo parents such as the provision of financial assistance, training and livelihood opportunities through Tesda, and micro-financing to jumpstart their own sustainable businesses.

Morales-Sambo also guaranteed to champion a sustainable blended learning set-up to serve not only the Mabalaqueño youth but also the city’s teaching force.

She said the advantages of broadcast (television and radio) and digital media must be further maximized as educational tools while the whole nation is gearing towards the resumption of face-to-face classes.

Meanwhile, Morales-Sambo recounted the significant role of barangay chiefs and councils leading to the city’s successful pandemic response.

Under Morales-Sambo’s stint as LNB president, the City Government’s establishment of Digital Hubs or Digi-Hubs across the city came into fruition.

The facilities, which are complete with computer units and internet connectivity, were situated in various villages of the city to aid Mabalaqueño students in their academic needs as the educational set-up throughout the country shifted to digital.

The Liga president also spearheaded all barangay councils in the city in the distribution of food sustenance and medicines to each Mabalaqueño household since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. All these and more are on top of their usual duties and responsibilities.

During Team MCG’s filing of COC in October, the LNB president signified her confidence and solidified her full support to incumbent Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo’s administration.

Saan ba kayo pupunta?” she said I an interview with Paul Gee Santos of CLTV36 News.

Morales-Sambo is the daughter of former mayor Marino Morales, who is challenging Garbo’s re-election bid in the upcoming 2022 elections.

Morales-Sambo is among the four ex-allies of Morales who joined the current administration’s slate to propel the #BayungMabalacat vision. (PR)
