Usa sa mga lakang nga gihimo sa 36ers mao ang pagkuha og personal skills coach nga si Scotty Ninnis alang sa 19 anyos ug 7’3’ nga basketbolista.
Matod ni General manager Jeff van Groningen nga nakatabang gyud og dako si Ninnis sa paglambo sa abilidad ni Sotto.
“We engaged Scotty Ninnis to do some individual skill work with Kai in the preseason and that was really productive, in addition to the regular schedule with coaches CJ Bruton, Jamie
[Pearlman, and the entire team and all the work done there on a daily basis,” batbat ni Groningen nga napatik sa Spin.ph.
Si Ninnis sakop sa puwersa sa 36ers nga nikampyon sa NBL niadtong 1986 ug 1998 unya napili kining Most Improved Player sa liga niadtong 1993.
Nagtrabaho sab si Ninnis isip asistant coach sa 36ers gikan niadtong 1998 hangtod 2003 una kini nipuli isip headcoach sa team niadtong 2008 hangtod 2010.
