Below 1,000 new Covid cases for 4 straight days

FOR the fourth straight day, less than 1,000 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health (DOH).

In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the DOH said 899 new infections were logged on Saturday, November 27, bringing the total caseload to 2,831,177.

The positivity rate remained below three percent, or at 2.4 percent, out of the 37,224 tests conducted last November 25.

The death toll, however, continued to climb with 188 new deaths Saturday.

With this, the country now has a total of 48,205 deaths due to Covid-19.

The case fatality rate stood at 1.70 percent.

The number of patients who have recovered from the disease also increased, with additional 1,667 recoveries reported.

This brought the total Covid-19 survivors to 2,765,920, which is 97.7 percent of the country’s confirmed cases.

The active cases remained at 17,052, or 0.6 percent of the country’s total.

Of the active cases, 49 percent were considered mild, 22.7 percent were moderate, 15 percent were severe, 6.9 percent were asymptomatic and 6.3 percent were critical. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
