Pampanga biggest sellers in DTI trade fair

THE micro, small and medium entrepreneurs from Pampanga generated the biggest income during the recently concluded trade fair hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Central Luzon.

The trade fair, held from November 18 to 21 in the City of San Fernando, was participated in by 49 MSMEs who are beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp).

Among the seven provinces, only MSMEs Pampanga hit and exceeded the P1-million mark, with a total income of P1.57 million.

It was followed by Bataan MSMEs who sold a total of P334,587, Zambales sellers sold a total of P269,415, and Aurora with P263,375.

Also, Bulacan MSMEs generated a total of P259,655, Tarlac had P157,895, and Nueva Ecija sellers generated a total sales of P98,143.

DTI Regional Director Leonila Baluyut said the total sales for the four-day regional trade fair is already comparable to the pre-pandemic Carp trade fair in 2019, wherein 82 participant exhibitors generated total sales of P3.45 million.

She said this means buyers are already gaining more confidence to buy local products as the economy is recovering to normal levels.

Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona, for her part, said the agency continued to assist MSMEs through various activities such as conduct of trade fairs.

“To help our small entrepreneurs in the countryside, there is no better way but to buy from them, and these trade fairs which we are organizing are the best ways to help them earn. By buying from them, we are also reassuring them that our assistance to them did not go to nothing,” she said.
