FULLY vaccinated individuals will be able to avail of free entrance at the Mambukal Resort in Murcia town, Negros Occidental as it reopens on Wednesday, December 1.

Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz II said local tourists may once more enjoy the facilities of the Provincial Government-run resort including the boating lagoon, sulfur hot bath, rentable huts and the waterfalls, among others, on its soft opening.

Diaz said landslides have occurred in two areas going up to the falls but the trail was not affected.

It will only be a day time trip for the meantime and no overnight stays yet at the resort, he said, adding that guests should have a reservation before going to the resort in Barangay Minoyan.

The provincial administrator said the free entrance that can only be availed during the reopening day is an incentive for fully vaccinated individuals.

In a related development, Diaz said a new food court building by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (Tieza) is nearing completion inside the resort.

While the Mambukal catering services are in operation, the concessionaires for the food court will still be arranged, he said.

Diaz said they will assess the situation. They will make necessary adjustments starting the second or third week of December depending on the outcome of the soft opening.

The Mambukal Resort was utilized by the province as a quarantine facility for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positive Capitol employees.

Diaz said the remaining two employees who are quarantined at the resort be going out from the facility today, November 30.
