THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), through the Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READi), has distributed some 4,250 food packs in 25 municipalities of Maguindanao.

The Ministry of Social Services and Development in Batmm (MSSD-Barmm) said in a statement Wednesday, December 1, that the distribution of food packs was aimed to encourage the residents to get vaccinated.

The distribution of food packs through the Rural Health Units (RHUs) was dubbed as “Ayuda para sa Bakuna.”

The MSSD said 2,400 of the 4,250 total food packs were sent to the RHUs in the 16 municipalities of Maguindanao on Monday, November 29, the first day of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan sa Bangsamoro”.

The remaining 1,850 food packs were distributed by the Barmm-READi on Tuesday, November 30, the second day of the three-day National Vaccination Days to nine other towns of Maguindanao.

The MSSD-Barmm also provided relief distributions to indigent communities who participated in the vaccination drive.

The Ministry of Health in Barmm targets to inoculate almost one million individuals during the three-day National Vaccination Days.

Barmm Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim said this is part of the national government's broader initiative to vaccinate approximately 15 million people in the country. (SunStar Zamboanga)
