CHILD'S rights, welfare and development were tackled during this year’s Local State of the Children’s Address of Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago.

Santiago emphasized that “the City of San Fernando is not just the ‘Home of the Giant Lanterns’ but also the ‘Home of the Future.’”

Highlights of his presentation included the civil rights and freedom of the Fernandino children together with the programs and projects for children’s welfare being implemented in the local government.

Santiago assured that the City Government will remain steadfast in protecting and supporting the children by providing them with quality education.

“We will continue to mold our Fernandino children by being ‘biyasa at maganaka’ dahil sila ang magtutuloy sa ating magandang nasimulan. We envision to become a model city of countryside development kaya naman in all aspect sinisiguro namin dito sa local government na maayos at sistematiko ang mga programang inilalatag para sa kapakanan ng bawat sektor, particulary, our children—our future of hope,” Santiago said.

(We envision becoming a model city of countryside development that is why in all aspects we here in the local government ensure that the programs laid out for the benefit of each sector, particularly, our children—our future of hope.) (PR)
