DTI Cebu opens Negosyo Center in Liloan

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Cebu has launched its fourth Negosyo Center in Cebu this year in the municipality of Liloan.

This is the 35th Negosyo Center in the province that aims to promote ease of doing business and facilitating access to services for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through business registration assistance, business advisory services, business information and advocacy, and monitoring and evaluation.

Liloan Mayor Ma. Esperanza Christina Frasco and DTI Cebu Provincial Director Rose Mae Quiñanola led the opening of the establishment located at the New Liloan Public Market.

Frasco said the launching of the Negosyo Center signals the prioritization of small and medium enterprises especially in this pandemic time. She said the local government of Liloan sees the Liloanons as its partner in the economic development, and envisions a high quality of life for all its residents.

“The Negosyo Center will give professional guidance for MSMEs in improving, registering and growing their businesses, and this also goes to those MSMEs who have not registered their businesses yet,” said Frasco in a statement.

The mayor believes that no one should be left behind in the provision of government services.

DTI Cebu Provincial Director Rose Mae Quiñanola highlighted the goal of the Negosyo Center which is to provide access to different business development programs and services for MSMEs.

3K MSMEs

She said the presence of the Negosyo Center in the Municipality of Liloan can finally serve the 3,000 MSMEs that come from the 14 barangays of Liloan. It can also extend DTI’s services to the municipality such as in providing business advisory and one-on-one business counseling, and in the creation of linkages of these MSMEs to various seminars, trainings and programs related to marketing, financial literacy, and many more to help grow their businesses.

Republic Act 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act mandates the creation of Negosyo Centers in every municipality, city and province throughout the country to help grow the MSME sector, which accounts for around 99 percent of registered businesses in the Philippines.

DTI Cebu has launched Negosyo Centers in Dumanjug, Argao, Barili and most recently in Samboan this year.

The new Negosyo Center Liloan is also the eight in the 5th District of the Province of Cebu, joining the existing centers in the neighboring areas in the district: Danao City, and the municipalities of Tudela, Pilar, San Francisco, Poro, Sogod and Borbon.
