Globalport-MisOr valientes crush Iligan by 35 points in VisMin Cup

THE Globalport-MisOr gained a share of the lead in the standings as it destroyed the Iligan Archangels, 104-69, in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup Mindanao Challenge on Dec. 2 at the Pagadian City Gymnasium.

The Valientes started the game on fire and raced off to a 13-point advantage at halftime, 48-35. MisOr then kept their foot on the gas pedal and did not let up as they unleashed a 31-20 binge to lead, 79-55, heading to the fourth. They eventually pushed their lead to a high of 42 before cruising to the easy win.

“I am happy because of this recovery after our two-game losing streak, we learned talaga,” said MisOr head coach Vis Valencia.

The Valientes joined Roxas at the top with identical 5-3 win-loss cards, while Iligan remained at the bottom at 2-6.

Former University of San Carlos high school standout Joel Lee Yu spearheaded the thrashing with 27 points on a 12-of-17 clip to go with four assists.

Reil Cervantes was a marksman, going 6-of-10 from deep to end with 18 points, while Dahrrel Caranguian got 13 points founded on three treys.

Jayson Ballesteros also grabbed a double-double for the Valientes with 10 points and 12 assists to go with one block.

MisOr moved the ball well, leading to 31 assists, while the young Archangels squad only managed 14 dimes.

Jack Hoyohoy tallied 13 points and 12 rebounds in the losing cause while Lugie Cuyos and Arche Salo had 11 points apiece.
