Angeles mayor: Vaccination resulted in zero Covid cases

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin, Jr. said the continuous vaccination of residents has contributed to the rapid decline in the number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the city.

The mayor said this as the City Government reported zero coronavirus cases on December 2, 2021.

Lazatin said the local government has recorded a steady decline in the number of Covid-19 cases since October 2021 because of the intensive vaccination drive.

The total number of fully vaccinated residents in the city climbed to almost 250,000 in line with the city's vaccination program dubbed Bakunado Protektado.

Some 314,420 individuals received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccines, according to Lazatin.

The City Health Office has also administered a total of 686 booster shots to frontline workers and priority individuals.

The City Government has also intensified the vaccination of minors ages 12 to 17.

A total of 35,026 minors received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of November 30, said IC Calaguas, Lazatin's chief adviser.
