Rosario receives 3rd-star rank

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has promoted Major General Alfredo Rosario, Jr., commander of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom), to the rank of Lieutenant-General.

President Rodrigo Duterte, in his visit to Zamboanga City Thursday, December 2, 2021, pinned the new rank insignia to Rosario in a simple donning of the rank ceremony held at the Zamboanga International Airport Heroes’ Lounge.

Rosario expressed his gratitude to the President, Secretary of National Defense, and AFP Board of Generals for giving him the opportunity to lead the most diverse unified command of the AFP.

He also extended his gratitude to all the units under his command for their continued support to the Westmincom’s thrust.

He urged all soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines to remain steadfast in fulfilling their respective tasks and to take extra care especially during this time of the pandemic.

Duterte congratulated Rosario on his well-deserved promotion to three stars general.

Rosario is the 14th commander of Westmincom. Before his current assignment, he was the 7th Infantry Division commander based at Fort Ramon Magsaysay in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

He belongs to the Philippine Military Academy “Maringal” Class of 1988. (SunStar Zamboanga)
