A GROUP of Kapampangans has initiated a cash assistance program to help their indigent Kabalens in their livelihood, especially during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Kapampangan Ku Pagmaragul Ku (KKPK), headed by its founder Jetlee Tiongco and president Fernando Mallari,

has handed during a simple ceremony on December 3, 2021, P15,000 each to seven residents of Porac town.

The beneficiaries include Rodolfo Mercado of Barangay Pio; Miriam Mercado, Rosemarie Garcia, Grace Godoy, and

Dina Delfin of Pulung Santol; Evangeline Gozum of Manibaug Paralaya; and Blanca Mendoza of Planas.

Tiongco said they have already helped 14 indigent residents all over the province in line with this program in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The KKPK committee coordinates with the local government units (LGUs) to evaluate if the target beneficiaries

are really poor.

With the seed funds, the beneficiaries are able to start small-scale businesses like stores, sampaguita plantations, among others.

Qualified beneficiaries under the program include solo parents, persons with disabilities, and others, according to Tiongco.

The group is planning to sponsor a gift-giving before Christmas Day, according to its founder.

KKPK's funds come mainly from their members and other donors who want to help in various projects of the organization.
