JUST a week after giving cash aid to the fire victims in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu on Nov. 28, 2021, presidential aspirant Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso visited the vote-rich province again on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021.
Domagoso was again accompanied again by Deputy Speaker Pablo John Garcia, secretary-general of One Cebu Party headed by the latter’s sister Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia.
The former actor turned politician has visited Cebu at least thrice in a month.
Domagoso first visited the province last Nov. 5 when he graced the Cebu CFI Cooperative’s event.
He came back Sunday, Dec. 5. He started his day with a dialogue with the workers of Cebu Safari and Adventure Park in the town of Carmen, northern Cebu.
The mayor lauded Cebu’s tourism industry despite the ongoing effects of the pandemic. He said business leaders play a crucial role in sustaining local tourism.
In the afternoon, Domagoso dropped by the City of Naga in southern Cebu. He toured the city’s museum, its now-famous boardwalk, and the newly opened Pasilong sa Naga, a P10.5-million public park.
Aside from Rep. Garcia, City of Naga Mayor Kristine Vanessa Chiong and her father, the former mayor Valdemar “Val” Chiong accompanied Domagoso in the aspirant's visit to the city.
Domagoso also met with barangay health workers and the LGBT sector at the Pasilong sa Naga. He lauded the local government for creating open spaces that can positively affect the hearts and minds of the people.
Domagoso also visited Toledo City on Sunday.
He will be attending multiple engagements in Lapu-Lapu City and Cebu City on Monday, Dec. 6, including the awarding ceremony of the Sugbo Negosyo program of the Cebu Provincial Government.
“Ako ay mag-iikot. Hindi ako titigil hanggat hindi ko mapapasagot ng ‘oo’ ang Cebu (I will continue my tour. I will not stop until I persuade Cebu to answer ‘yes’ to me),” he said.
In an interview with reporters, Mayor Chiong said Domagoso was impressed with the city’s museum as it preserves culture and tradition.
She further said that they are not yet endorsing any presidential candidate and she is focusing on recovery and rehabilitation from the Covid-19 pandemic.
