TOURISTS coming from different regions in the country have started visiting Boracay Island as the National Government further eased travel restrictions in the country.

The Malay Tourism Office reported that 16,201 domestic tourists have visited Boracay from November 1 to 20, 2021.

A report signed by Felix Delos Santos Jr., Malay Chief Tourism Operations officer, stated that almost half of the number of tourist arrivals registered at 7,301 tourists came from the National Capital Region.

The number was followed by tourists coming from Calabarzon at 3,158.

The least number of tourists who visited Boracay came from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), which has registered 15 tourists for the whole month of November.

The Aklan Provincial Government recently eased restrictions for fully vaccinated tourists, who are no longer required to present a negative RT-PCR test result.

Children below 12 years old are also not required to present a negative RT-PCR test result if their parents or guardians are fully vaccinated.
