Davao City to give ‘pahalipay’ to residents with Safe Davao QR

THE Davao City Government will be giving out Christmas "pahalipay" (gifts) to be sent through the SafeDavao QR (DQR) code beginning December 8.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio bared this in a radio interview Monday afternoon, December 6.

"For this year ang tanan nga pahalipay is naa sa (all gifts will be coursed through the) SafeDavao QR (DQR)," Duterte-Carpio said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio.

She added that all Davao City residents will receive their grocery packs through their DQR. The DQR is primarily used for contact tracing purposes, and documentation for the vaccination program.

"We are expecting since dugay na ta nagagamit og DQR -- more than one year na, ang mga tao kabalo na sila mogamit (we have been using the DQR for more than a year already, the public now knows how to use it)," she said.

In a Facebook post on the SafeDavao QR page, all city residents who wish to avail of their Christmas package are instructed to log in their DQR profile at profiles.safe-davao.com to know how they can claim it.

The "Pahalipay" will run from December 8, 2021 to January 31, 2022.

"Sama, dili kinahanglan magdali o magtapok sa pagkuha (With this, there is no need for everyone to rush or claim it at the same time)," the city said.

In addition, all City Government employees are exempted from availing the Christmas gifts.

The city also posted the list of suppliers wherein Dabawenyos can claim their "Pahalipay."

Hours after the city made the announcement, some DQR holders said on their social media posts that they cannot open profiles.safe-davao.com.

Some were able to access the website but could not log in. Those who tried using the app also noted that it kept on crashing.
