THE National Government is targeting to administer at least seven million coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine doses during the second leg of the national vaccination program, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

In a televised press briefing, Duque said the second round of the massive vaccination drive is scheduled for December 15 to 17.

He expressed belief that the target is reachable.

The Philippines was able to administer over 10 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines during the three-day national vaccination program last November 29 to December 1, which was extended until December 3.

As of December 6, 92,752,986 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered, with 53,492,838 as first dose.

A total of 38,699,023 individuals have been fully vaccinated, while 561,126 got their booster dose.

Authorities earlier urged the public to get Covid-19 jabs amid the threat of the Omicron variant. (SunStar Philippines)
