Angeles mayor: I want to reach, help all sectors

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said he wants to reach all sectors of the society, especially the marginalized ones, and provide them assistance.

The mayor said this as the City Government started the distribution of P1,000 each to solo parents in the city.

The local government provided the cash assistance via house-to-house delivery to 92 registered indigent solo parents in Barangay Sapalibutad on December 7, 2021.

Some 2,500 registered solo parents from the 33 barangays in the city will receive cash aid.

Members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), headed by Joy Duaso, led the distribution of the cash aid with Angeles City Solo Parent Focal Person Rebecca Peñaranda.

“Nais ko na maabot lahat ng sektor ng komunidad, at mabigyan sila ng mga karampatang tulong,” Lazatin said.

Duaso said as soon as Lazatin took office in 2019, the CSWDO has been releasing IDs for members of the solo parents community to allow them to avail of the benefits they are entitled to.

Beneficiaries of the livelihood program of the City Government are solo parents, particularly in the Angeleño First Facemask livelihood project.

During the lockdown period last year, P1,000 cash aid were given to 5,000 members of the solo parents community.
