'Drug den' in San Carlos City dismantled

AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Western Visayas have dismantled a suspected drug den in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental past 1 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of Arman Cañete, Remegio Alob "alias Mehong," Raul Caruscay, Marvin Magbulogtong and Noel Bonghanoy, the alleged drug den maintainer.

PDEA-Western Visayas, in a statement, said the operation was conducted after they received information from a concerned citizen through "Isumbong Mo Kay Wilkins" program about the operation of the alleged drug den.

Recovered during the anti-drug operation were several sachets of shabu weighing about 15 grams and amounting to P102,000, used and rolled tin foil strips, disposable lighters, mobile phone, and buy-bust money, among others.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 and Section 26 in relation to Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
